Argus

Hello, Odysseus here. So I am on my way to town with Eumaeus when we are arriving near the palace and there is my old dag Argus. Argus was just laying there in a pile of dung write before the gates of the palace. I approached him because I hadn't seen him in twenty years and I missed him.

I had trained Argus when he was a puppy to hunt but I had personally never taken him hunting. I made me feel sick to see him lying there getting destroyed by flies because I new what a great dog he could've been. When I had left him to go to Troy, he was as strong as could be and was the best dog around.

I had been told that his owner had died and he had been left her for the women slaves but they wouldn't take care of him. He had been right here for so long that he had lost all of his strength and was useless. I  proceeded into the court to be among the suitors when Argus saw his last day. He had died happy knowing that he got to see me after twenty years.
